Brightwell Pensions Academy Celebrates Its Inaugural Cohort of Graduates

Brightwell, the end-to-end service provider for defined benefit pension schemes and primary service provider to the BT Pension Scheme, has today announced the graduation of its first cohort of trainees.

Brightwell provides member administration services to the c.270,000 members of the BT Pension Scheme from its Chesterfield office. This includes handling inbound member calls, outbound member communications and processing monthly pension payments. Established in 2022, the Brightwell Pensions Academy is a blended learning programme aimed at nurturing and developing early careers within the pensions industry.

This month Morgan Golding, Joe Pope, Stephen Harris, and Charlotte Burdon successfully completed their academy training, marking a significant milestone in their careers.

With their successful completion of the Academy Training Programme, Morgan, Joe, Stephen, and Charlotte have been promoted to the role of full-time pension administrators within the organisation.

Andy Whitelaw, Brightwell’s Deputy Head of Member Services, said: “A career in pensions administration may not be an obvious choice but there’s a huge amount of potential at Brightwell. If you enjoy working with people and providing a top-quality service in a supportive and collaborative environment, we have a number of roles on offer. Our academy training gives you all the tools you need to build a fantastic and rewarding career.”

Graduate Morgan Golding said: “I am so pleased to have graduated from the Brightwell Pensions Academy Training Programme. The training was really thorough and although I didn’t know anything about pensions when I joined, I’ve felt supported throughout. It’s a very friendly place to work and every day is different.”

Fay Knight, Head of Service Operations, Brightwell said:“It has been a privilege to watch our graduates’ development throughout the program, and I am immensely proud of their dedication and commitment. I’ve seen firsthand the tremendous effort they put in, and I have no doubt they will excel in their roles as full-time pension administrators.”

Brightwell is committed to improving access and creating pathways to a career in pensions, and currently has a range of roles for people both with and without industry experience.

Joining Brightwell comes with a range of attractive benefits including a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package, including a default minimum 10% pension contribution in addition to a matched 5% pension contribution, a health cash plan, and a generous discretionary bonus scheme to reward exceptional performance.
